This kit is designed for planetary observation. The set is for those individuals that want to to build a telescope but do not have the time to grind and polish the primary mirror. The mirror and diagonal could be the beginning foundation for a science project, a scout merit badge, a family activity, or a gift.

The construction of the telescope housing is covered in detail in most of the telescope making books. These books can be obtained through the library system if the individual does not wish to purchase them.
